Follow Comanche, the wild mustang’s adventure, from being born in the wilderness in Nevada, to a life of being a therapy horse for humans and then traveling across the ocean to the tropical jungle paradise of Kaua’i, Hawaii!
I was fortunate to have the prolific horse artist Nica Ware collaborate with me on this project. Please check out a 30 minute Instagram Live we did together, all the way from Scotland to Hawaii! It’s a fascinating conversation sharing about the creation of our wonderful book.
I was inspired to create a kids book about the wild horses, as I am concerned that future generations will not know what a wild horse is.
The daunting reality is that it’s getting to the tipping point where there is almost more wild horses kept in horrible living conditions in holding pens (like a horse prison) than are roaming free in their natural habitat. Many are sold for horse meat & the ones that survive are kept in horrible living conditions without adequate food, water & shelter & are separated from their family bands‼️
